“For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free--and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:13 NKJV
Beth and I have been blessed by the opportunity to teach and preach around the world and no matter where we go we are reminded that the gospel we share is not an American gospel. It’s not a white gospel, a black gospel, an asian or hispanic gospel, it’s just THE gospel. The truth is that God so loved THE WORLD, that He sent His son Jesus to die for it, all of it. Which simply means that there is just ONE body of Christ around the world-- making us one big happy family.
We are one body, one Church and we’re one family. The good news about the “good news” is we’ve got family all over the world. We may look different, we may talk different, and we may even express our worship to God differently, but no matter what - Jesus is at the center of it all.
So today, let’s pray for our family around the world. Let’s say a prayer for those who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus, because they are family. Let’s pray for those who are called to missionary work around the world, because they are family. As the Lord leads you today, let’s lift up the Christians in other nations, because they are family. Let’s lift up the pastors and churches that are preaching Jesus around the world, because they are family. And remember this passage:
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14
Let’s be a part of this worldwide gospel now and then look forward to the greatest family reunion ever, when we get to heaven!
