God Cares

Beth Jones

"…the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, NIV
Perhaps you’re going through a tough season and maybe you need to be reminded today that God cares. He really cares about you. Perhaps you're struggling with the loss of a loved one. Maybe you're single and feeling lonely. It's possible you're heartbroken about something. Maybe you're going through a rough season. Perhaps you haven't laughed in a long time. God understands the deepest places in your heart today. The psalmist said, "Deep calls to deep…" – the deep places in God call to the deep places in our hearts. God cares.
He is the "Father of compassion" and "the God of all comfort." Do you need a little compassion? Need God's comfort? Sometimes, we feel so much discouragement or pain, we wonder if anyone could possibly care or understand. God cares. He is the Father of all compassion and comfort. If there is any compassion or comfort to be found, He is the Author, Supplier, Father and God of it! He will comfort you in all your troubles. No matter what you are going through, call out to the Lord – He's a compassionate Father and the God Who will give you all the comfort you need – for all your troubles.
Don't worry – it will happen – your pain and heartache will be replaced with God's soothing comfort and joy. You'll laugh again. Your heart will be healed. Your soul will be restored. After you have been comforted, you'll be able to comfort others with what you have received from the Lord. After a while, something good will come out of the troubles you've experienced, when you've been through something others are going through – and you've experienced the reality of God's compassion – you are in a unique position to really comfort others.
Today, if you need a special touch from your Heavenly Father, ask Him to pour out His compassion and comfort on you.

Prayer: "Father, I believe You care about me. You are the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort. You comfort me in all my troubles. I need Your compassion and comfort today, so I ask You to touch my heart and mind in a special way. I know that You will heal my broken heart; I will laugh again and I'll comfort others with the comfort You give to me. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
