“Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” John 14:6

What a mysterious title right? Well no intended mystery here. I just wanted to take a moment to share with you something simple yet imperative. How often have you heard someone say something like “that’s just the fact of the matter” or “those are the facts?” It is said with such confidence and force because a fact is supposedly something that doesn’t change. But here’s the thing, facts have been changing rather consistently throughout history. That’s what makes them facts and not the truth. I think about way back in time when it was a fact that the earth was flat. Thank goodness a few someones came around and discovered the truth of the matter.

Take a look at the above verse again. Jesus didn’t say I am the way, the fact, and the life. Jesus said I am the truth! He doesn’t change. He was true then, He is true now, and He will be true tomorrow!

We live in a world that holds tightly to what they believe to be truth but so often it only turns out to be a momentary fact. Once more information comes out you realize it never was truth. Think about the world you live in today. Even if you have a small amount of awareness you can see the world is clinging to things calling them the way, calling them truth, and calling them the way of life. However they are apart from God and bring no good! Listen to what Romans 1:25 says, “They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.” The truth has been exchanged for temporary facts.

But not so for you! If you are a believer in Christ, I want to encourage you stand confident even though you are going to be the minority in beliefs. There are going to be tough times for those who believe the Truth and ignore the facts. You are going to be looked down upon because your truth says theirs is a fact that will soon be debunked. Your truth is set on an Absolute, theirs is not. You will base your life on the precious and timeless word of God and that will counter the “facts” of this present age. You must must purpose in your heart to be resolute! You must realize the devil is roaming around seeking whom he may devour. (1 Peter 5:8) He has a game plan and he is executing it to deceive the masses into believing Jesus isn’t the way, the truth, and the life.

So, today I want to remind you. Don’t put your trust in knowledge, wisdom, or even the facts of this world. Put your trust in the one who is Truth! In light of this, I want to leave you with a verse. John 8:32, "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Prayer: “Father, thank You for the Absolute truth! In You I have the way, the truth, and the life. Quicken me Holy Spirit to recognize the truth from Your word and to recognize the ever fleeting facts of this world. I want truth! I want You! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
