“Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40, NLT
One day an expert in religious law came to Jesus and asked him of all the issues that frame our lives, what is the most important. For some reason he thought the question was going to stump the Lord, but actually it was a really easy answer. It’s simply this, when it comes to every area of our lives-- Give It All You Got!
In terms of our faith, Jesus says give it all you got to the things that God is into. Jesus gave all He had when He went to the cross for our sin. So, don’t be a part-time Christian on Sunday’s and live like hell the other six days of the week. Being a Christian means we are followers of Christ, and as we follow Him our lives, our actions and our words should also reflect that relationship.
Give it all you got, in your marriage and with your family. Part-time spouses, or part-time parents don’t cut it. Give it all you got in your work, because there are way too many people who only work part-time in their full-time job. Give it all you got, in your relationships with others, which means taking the time to invest in your friendships.
God didn’t wire us to be part-timers in anything, so let’s give everything we got to everything we do.
Prayer: “Father, help me to give it all I got, in all that I do and in every area of my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!”
