In the spirit of Empowered Conference taking place this week at Valley Family Church, I thought I'd dedicate this one to the ladies! Men - keep reading, I believe you'll find gold as well.
Ladies, one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself and to your world, is to rise up and take your place. In a world where culture thinks they can define the value of a woman, the truth is that we are all valuable, and we're all created for such a time as this. Regardless of ethnicity, background, or heritage, you are extremely valuable to God and to the people He's placed in your life.
There's a woman by the name of Esther who demonstrates this beautifully in the Bible. Her outward circumstances ruled her as disadvantaged; both her parents were dead, she was adopted, and through her adoption she was a disguised Jewish woman living in a land where Jews were looked down upon.
Eventually, through a series of favorable events, she was crowned as queen of the region. Before long a decision of great proportion was placed before her - to rise up, use her voice, and take her place, or shrink back and hope someone else steps up. Regardless of her background, or whether she felt like she deserved to be queen or not, Esther rose up and made the decision to use her voice and influence for good.
This was her moment. What is the one thing you need to hear before you take the plunge and boldly step into your God-given destiny?
"...Maybe you were made queen for such a time as this." Esther 4:14.
Perhaps you're living in your "for such a time as this" moment - and like Esther you're boldly stepping into your destiny. Or maybe you're a bit hesitant about your place. For Esther it didn't come overnight. She had to risk her life on behalf of others. But before she did she fasted and prayed and asked others to do the same with her. More often than not to take our place we must use wisdom and rely on God to give us courage and boldness to act upon the conviction of what we know is right.
So today ladies, I echo to you the encouragement given to Esther to carry her through: you are made for such a time as this. Go boldly into your world. Take your place as a light and carrier of God's love, rise up and live out your for such a time as this moment. Perhaps your for such a time as this moment is to claim back everything Jesus has already given you in Him. To take hold of your value, identity, position in society, your purpose, your calling that He's so freely given you. He loves you, and has a beautiful story to tell in and through your life.
"So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross." Colossians 1:19-20
Say It: “Father, today I make a decision to rise up and step into my God-given destiny. You have given me all I need to navigate this season with wisdom and grace. I ask You Father for empowering to walk out Your will upon earth as it is in heaven, to take my place with a humble heart and a willing spirit. I also pray for every woman attending Empowered Conference, may You breathe fresh life into Your girls and remind them they are chosen for such a time as this. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
