"…so that I may finish my race with joy…" Acts 20:24, NKJV

Years ago, my husband ran the Chicago Marathon and the kids and I were at the finish line to cheer him on to victory. It was such a moving experience to watch all those runners come across the finish line. Some people got a sudden burst of energy and they raced past the line. Others were limping, cramping and practically crawling to the end. They were all beside themselves with happiness and relief when they got to the finish line!
We stood in the bleachers and watched for Jeff. When we saw him hit the last 100 yards we were screaming, "You can do it! Way to go Jeff…keep running. You're the man. You did it. Go…go…go…you can do it!" What joy there was for him and for us as he finished that marathon.
I wonder if the Lord is watching us from the grandstands in Heaven. (I know He is!) He is aware of what mile marker we're at and I have no doubt that He and all the angels are cheering us on to victory. I hope today you hear the Lord calling your name, "C'mon, dear one…you can do it! Keep running. You're almost there. Don't quit. Stay strong. Keep the faith. Hold fast to your confession. Keep going…you'll make it…c'mon, finish strong! Great joy awaits you!"
It's that time of the year and no doubt, you've been running your own "marathon." Another season is coming to an end, projects are wrapping up, difficult times are coming to an end, the trial of your life is about over, the school year is winding down, graduations are here, kids are moving out, weddings are on the horizon…you are almost to the finish line of this season!
Stay focused and finish strong!
The last lap of the race is the hardest and most important. Your finish line is in sight, even though your body may be tired, your mind may be weary and your muscles may be screaming. Hang in there, even if you want a breather, a break and if you desperately crave rest. Don't quit too soon…stay strong to the end. Fight the fight of faith. You can do it. It will be worth it. May the Lord give you a supernatural burst of "adrenalized energy" and a deposit of great grace so you can finish strong and hit the tape with joy!

Say It: “Father, with Your help, I will finish my race in this season! I will finish strong and with joy. Thank You for Your grace to run my race! In Jesus' Name, Amen.”
