“...What you say flows from what is in your heart." Luke 6:45, NLT

We see many examples in the Bible of those who had faith - specifically the “spirit of faith.” For example, the Apostle Paul was a man who had the spirit of faith and saw supernatural results in and through his life, everywhere he went! What does it mean to have the spirit of faith? Well, it’s more than just being positive. It’s good to be positive, but it’s not equivalent to the spirit of faith and it doesn’t get the same type of supernatural results.

The spirit of faith is a spiritual force, not a mental or emotional feeling. The spirit of faith is founded on God’s promises, and it is revealed by what we say, which flows from what we believe in our hearts.

What does this look like in daily life? When the Word is rooted in our hearts and saturates our spirit, we aren’t “trying” to say positive things like, “The Lord is good,” or “God is on my side,” or “Jesus is my Healer,” or “I am more than a conqueror,” in an effort to have faith - rather, we actually believe those things are true in the core of our being and therefore we speak them out!

Can you now see the difference between just being a positive person and actually having the spirit of faith? If you think you might be weak in faith, don’t despair. The spirit of faith is contagious - you can “catch” the spirit of faith by spending time with God and His Word and by hanging out with those who have that same spirit of faith!

Say This: “Father, I thank You for Your Word and all of Your promises. I believe You and what your Word says. Help me to fill my heart with Your Word, so that I may speak out Your Truth in faith! I want to have a spirit of faith and see Your supernatural power at work in and through my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
