Peace, Baby!

Beth Jones

"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7, NIV

Been agitated or unsettled lately? Stressed out or frustrated? Angry even? You need peace, baby!

When we yield to God's peace, it acts as a guard over our minds and hearts. Peace is more than a warm feeling or freedom from fear and anxiety; it's a spiritual force that helps us to stay in faith. Peace adds courage, strength, calm, balance, stability and temperance to our lives. Peace is not moved by bad news. Peace is not easily angered. Peace is not full of anxiety. Peace rests in God and His Word. Peace is a beautiful thing.

The Bible tells us how we can receive peace in multiplied measures, "May grace (God's favor) and peace (which is perfect well-being, all necessary good, all spiritual prosperity, and freedom from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts) be multiplied to you in [the full, personal, precise, and correct] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord." 2 Peter 1:2, AMP

What does this mean for us? It means we should go after the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. Read the Word. Spend time with God. When we grow in the full, personal, precise and correct knowledge of God and Jesus, His peace will be multiplied to us!

Say This: "Father, I thank You for Your peace. I choose to let peace rule in my heart. I choose to let the peace of God which passes all understanding guard my heart and my mind. I want to grow in my personal knowledge of You and I know that as I do, peace will be multiplied to me. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
