Your Heroes

Beth Jones

"The godly people in the land are my true heroes! I take pleasure in them!" Psalm 16:3, NLT

Have you thought about your heroes lately? Have you thanked God for the godly people in your world? I think it’s a good practice to reflect on the heroes the Lord has put in our lives over the years. Here are a few of mine...

Way back yonder, God got my attention through my college roommate and her godly Christian testimony. She lived what she preached and it made an eternal difference in my life.

I think about the Campus Crusade for Christ leaders; humble, evangelistic, godly people who put up with all my questions and doubts and got me started on the road of discipleship.

I am eternally grateful for the godly Pastors who took me under their wings in the early days. They answered my questions, taught me the Word, showed me how to pray, lived a godly life and encouraged me in my gifts.

I owe so much to the staff at Rhema Bible Training Center. Their godly example and anointed teaching changed my life and ministry forever.

I think about all of the beautiful, godly, prayer warrior, heart friends God has given me over the years and I am blessed beyond measure.

I am thankful for the Valley Family Church family, volunteers and staff. We have been so blessed to know, pastor and serve alongside some of the most genuine, humble, joyful people in the world.

I can’t help but think about my family – my mom, sisters and all of my blood, step and in-law relatives. Seeing the Lord at work in and through them makes my heart happy.

I think about our four children – their sweet spirits and authentic love for the Lord. They are wise beyond their years and a constant inspiration to me.

I can’t make this list without including one of the most godly men I know – my husband Jeff – a man’s man with thick skin and a tender heart. He takes the hero cake for me...hands down!

The godly in the land are my true heroes and I take great pleasure in them! So, what about you? Who are the godly people in your land? Today, make your own list and take pleasure in them! Maybe even send them a note to let them know how much they mean to you!

Say This: “Father, thank You for surrounding my life with so many godly people. I pray that You bless, strengthen and favor them in a fresh way today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
