BE KNOWN FOR THIS

Jennifer Cole

“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit…” (Romans 14:17, NIV)

God wants you to enjoy a life full of goodness, peace and joy. And not just a little bit of joy...fullness of joy!

Listen to what Jesus said, “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” (John 15:11, NKJV)

Ever wondered why?

>> He knows the joy of the Lord is your strength! He wants you to have all the strength you need for the demands of life.

If joyful is not how you would describe the kind of life you’re currently experiencing -- there is hope! You can make a decision to “rejoice in the Lord” anyway! When you choose joy, He fills you with His!

Your joy-filled life will be your strength and will draw others to Christ. Plus, it makes life more enjoyable for you -- and those around you! 😉

Are you ready to trade your sorrows, frustrations, and disappointments for joy? Go ahead and choose joy, today!

Say This: “Father, thank You that Your will for my life is to be full of joy! Today, I choose joy! The joy of the Lord is my strength. Help me to experience true joy, regardless of circumstances, and to be known as someone who reflects Your joy to all those around me! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

SET GREAT THINGS IN MOTION

Jennifer Cole

What if I told you the most powerful way to set great things in motion for any area of your life, doesn’t cost a penny? It’s not a self-help book, mail-order specialty food or a new workout routine.

>>The greatest way to put your best future into motion is to speak out faith-filled words!

The Bible says we should call things that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17 KJV). We shouldn’t limit our words to just what we see...and the way things are right now. Set your sights on what God says your life can be like -- and then speak that out in faith, no matter what your present circumstances look like!

So, how do you do this? In each area of your life, find the Bible promises that you can tuck into your heart and then speak out in faith with your words! God’s Word never returns void -- it always accomplishes what it sets out to do (Isaiah 55:11 KJV). Faith-filled words will really get great things in motion in your life!

The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Proverbs 18:21, NIV

Here are a couple of declaration samples...start with these if you’d like and then build your own as you dig into what the Bible says about what God has for you!

For students (or parents - you can pray this over your children!):
“This year will be my best year yet! As I go to school I am full of joy, life, love and boldness. I have the mind of Christ. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I am a leader for God’s kingdom every day. I am anointed to learn, make friends and be the best student I can be. God is with me, He is for me and He is on my side. I am successful, prospering and blessed. I will be a world changer in my school, on my sports teams and in my group of friends. This year is going to be my best year ever! Amen.”

For anyone:

“Because I am a believer in Jesus Christ and build my life on God’s Word, I make this declaration: I am the head and not the tail, above and not beneath. I am full of faith, full of God’s wisdom and full of limitless potential and infinite possibilities. Every day I walk in God’s favor and lean on God’s amazing grace in every area of life. I am more than a conqueror and can do ALL things through Christ Who strengthens me -- because the joy of the Lord is my strength. So by faith, I declare my body is healthy, my mind is sharp, my spirit is strong, and I am blessed to be a blessing. I declare 2019 is my best year yet! Amen.”

Say This:
“Father, thank You for all of the promises You’ve given to me in the Bible and for the incredible life You have in mind for me. Help me to learn Your promises and speak them out in faith -- regardless of what my current circumstances are like. I know that as I speak faith-filled words in line with Your Word, great things are being put into motion and my best days are ahead! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

WHO'S THE BOSS

Jennifer Cole

In honor of celebrating Labor Day here in the United States today, let’s chat about work!

Work can be very satisfying, very fulfilling. But, work does involve people, and as they say -- people can be people! If you’ve been employed anywhere for any length of time, chances are you’ve encountered a boss who wasn’t your favorite person to work for -- or a coworker who wasn’t your favorite person to work with.

How was that experience for you? Did you find yourself getting frustrated, saying things maybe you shouldn’t have, talking about them to others...or maybe even quitting that job? While you can’t change other people, you can change your perspective...and often times, perspective is everything.

>>My encouragement to you today is to remember who's boss!

Meaning, remember who you really work for -- the Lord! Keeping that in perspective is truly a game changer. In the Bible we see this encouragement: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving” (Colossians 3:23-24 NIV).

As a Christ-follower, let this Scripture become the attitude of your heart in the workplace. When you look at your work as something the Lord has you doing -- in a place the Lord has you stationed at for now, and working for a boss the Lord has put in leadership over you for now -- it helps you keep your heart in the right place at your job.

With this heart attitude, you can extend grace and patience to your boss, coworkers and customers. You can go the extra mile at work, when no one is looking, because you know God sees and records your faithfulness. Beyond that, I encourage you to pray for your boss. Pray for your coworkers. And perhaps most of all, pray that the Lord will do a great work in and through you -- so you may have joy in your work, and so that His love will shine through you to everyone you encounter!

Say This: “Father, thank You for my job. Thank You that Your favor surrounds me and I have opportunities to grow and thrive at work. Lord, I pray for my boss, my coworkers and my customers. I ask that You help them prosper in every way. And Lord, I ask that You help me keep the right heart attitude at work and have Your light shining through me to everyone around! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

CROCK POT VS INSTANT POT

Jennifer Cole

Who’s a fan of the instant pot? Seriously, meals that used to take all day to cook in a crock pot can now be done in an hour. It’s amazing! And then of course, there’s the other kitchen appliance we can’t live without -- the microwave! It promises hot food in minutes or even seconds.

From cooking to just about every area in life, it seems like everything in this world is speeding up. But...not everything can or should be sped up. Not everything is meant to be rushed! That walk along the beach during sunset...don’t rush it. Those years where your kids are at home and you can hug them anytime you want...don’t rush that! And even the very foundation of our lives -- our faith -- shouldn’t be rushed.

>>The truth is, faith can’t be microwaved or tossed into the instant pot -- it’s way more like a crock pot!

Friends, faith isn’t about trying to get the farthest, fastest. And, great faith doesn’t happen overnight or by a sprinkling of fairy dust. It takes time, it takes learning the Word of God and applying it in your life.

The basic truth is that bite-sized steps are what lead to large, meaningful change. All progress is good progress and believe it or not -- it’s the little things that can have the biggest impact! After all, the Bible tells us that this is the day the Lord has made (Psalm 118:24)...your daily progress will make a difference!

So, choose to do one small thing today to grow in your faith. And again tomorrow. And the next day. You’ll be amazed at how much you’ve grown in your faith and your personal relationship with the God who loves you, all through small daily steps!

Say This: “Father, thank You for Your great love for me and for Your Word. As I read my Bible and spend time with You, I know my faith will continue to increase every day. Help me to invest in the small, consistent steps that will grow my faith. I desire to live a life of strong faith and I thank You for helping me grow! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

REST IN THIS

Jennifer Cole

The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
Lamentations 3:22-23, NLT

What do you do when you’re facing a situation and you’re not sure how it’s going to play out? Which direction to take? How to make a difficult decision? What to think of the doctor’s report that surprised you?

Remember in all of those moments that God is faithful. When you can’t see very far ahead, or the situation is so foggy that it’s become hard to see anything clearly, you can always look in the rear-view mirror. Look back at your life up to this point and see God’s faithfulness to you. Remember all of the big and little ways He has shown Himself faithful to you throughout your life.

>>That same God who has been faithful to you all these years will still be faithful to you today, tomorrow, the rest of your life -- always!

The faithful love of the Lord never ceases. After all, He pursued us first. He loved us first. “We love because He first loved us.” (1 John 4:19) God gave us grace, mercy and goodness so compelling and complete that it led us to repentance and salvation. So, while we may not know every detail about everything up ahead in life, we do know God’s love for us, His character and His faithfulness.

Will He help you through your current situation? Will He show you the steps to take, give you the wisdom you’ve been praying for...make a way where there seems to be no way? The answer to all of those is YES!

So if you’re seeing some fog up ahead that you need to walk through, choose to remember His faithfulness. Doing so will give you rest and peace in knowing you’re not alone in this and He’s got your back! Great is His faithfulness!

Say This: “Father, thank You for Your love for me and Your faithfulness. I choose to remember and keep my focus on your great faithfulness. Lord, I ask You to please fill me with Your wisdom and show me the best steps to take in this situation that I’m facing: _____________ . In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
