PEOPLE WITH A DEEP WELL DO WELL

Jennifer Cole

Have you ever known a person who just seems to be “unsinkable?” Someone with true-blue faith, who seems to walk above the waves in a stormy season, who seems to rebound no matter what the setback, who seems calm, cool and collected despite the drama happening around them?

>>I would guess they have a DEEP WELL.

If you’re craving that kind of life for yourself -- get a deep well! A deep well comes from spending time with the Lord, meditating upon His Word, seeking Him in prayer, resting in His love, listening to His voice, trusting His guidance, following His prompts, serving His cause, and loving what He loves.

When you have a deep well, He continually fills you with rivers of living water that refresh you while you refresh others. So no matter what life throws at you or what situations are “draining” your water -- when you have rivers of His water pouring in, you never run out! And, you have an abundance that will help refresh others too.

We see Jesus mention these rivers of living water in John 7:37-38: “On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’’”

Ask the Lord today to help you deepen your well –- and then bust out that Bible, get to praying, follow His lead -- and get those living waters flowing!

Say This: “Father, thank You for rivers of living water! Help me to deepen my well, so I can do well in life no matter the circumstances. May I be refreshed in You and also help refresh others. Thank You that You guide me, fill me, lead me and love me! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

SEND FEAR PACKING

Jennifer Cole

“Every promise from the faithful God is pure and proves to be true. He is a wrap-around shield of protection for all his lovers who run to hide in him.” Proverbs 30:5 TPT

I love that term -- “wrap-around shield of protection” -- isn’t that such a great picture of God’s protection for each of us?

Let’s face it, if you turn on the news or scroll through social media for even just a few minutes, there’s enough going on in the world that just a few words or images can send fear straight to your heart. If this continues, before you know it, you’re struggling with fear, anxiety, heavy levels of concern -- and at a certain point, you can find yourself feeling fearful all the time, which for sure steals the joy out of life.

So friends, my encouragement to you today is to let Proverbs 30:5 marinate in your heart. Speak it aloud and claim it in faith. And when fear tries to creep in again, speak the verse again!

>>The spoken Word of God moves mountains...that includes fear and anxiety mountains!

Take a second today to write this verse on a sticky note -- then put it on your mirror or on your car dashboard. Put it wherever you need reminders of His protection!

Say This: “Father, thank You for Your wrap-around shield of protection. I speak in faith that You protect and guide me, and in Jesus’ name I speak to fear and anxiety ‘mountains’ and tell them to MOVE! My heart and mind are at peace thanks to Your love and protection. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

ASK BIG!

Jennifer Cole

God has a LOT to say in the Bible about asking! But why? After all...hasn’t He already paid for all of the blessings and provisions in your life? Yes. Hasn’t He promised you that whatever you pray for (in accordance with the Word) He will give you? Yes. Doesn’t He already know what you need? Yes.

>>But friends, there’s something huge about ASKING. Don’t miss this!

The Bible says: “...you do not have because you do not ask” (James 4:2 NKJV). That oughta stir all of us up! What are some examples of BIG things to ask for?

How about the salvation of your entire family? Ask! We know it’s not His will that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). When we ask in agreement with His Word, He hears and goes to work. Also, ask the Lord to use you! Make yourself available to be used in whatever way He sees fit to reach your family, and others. Pray big!

How about praying out the dreams in your heart? Have you asked for doors to be opened, to be in the right place at the right time, for favor and grace? For God to take the seemingly impossible and make it possible? Ask big!

James 1 tells us that every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights! None of us want to find out when we get to Heaven that God had all kinds of presents ready to come down for us, but we never asked for them! Ask! He wants to bless you, prosper you, and help you succeed -- for your enjoyment and so you can be a blessing to others! Today, make a decision to focus on asking BIG...and watch and see what the Lord will do in and through your life!

Say This: “Father, thank You that everything I ask in accordance with Your Word, You provide! Lord, with faith that nothing is impossible for You, today I ask for ________. (Ask for BIG things here!) And I ask You, Lord, for the salvation of all my friends and family. Use me, Lord, to reach others for Christ. Thank You that I am blessed to be a blessing. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

DOES ANYBODY SEE ME?

Jennifer Cole

Sometimes those who have faithfully served the Lord for years and years can start to feel invisible. Start to feel like their contributions just don’t matter or aren’t seen. You may be discouraged, thinking all of your serving and faithfulness aren’t noticed by anyone, not even by the Lord. Friends, if that’s you today -- let me encourage you that God DOES see you and He keeps great records of your faithfulness!

Mark 9:41 assures us, “The truth of the matter is this: anyone who gives you a cup of cool water to drink because you carry the name of your Anointed One will be rewarded” (The Voice translation). If such a basic deed as providing a cup of water is noticed and rewarded, we can be assured that all acts of serving and kindness -- in His name -- are noticed too! Now, for sure the motivation of all of this serving is purely to share God’s love to others, but it’s a nice perk to know that the faithfulness is noticed!

>>God sees you, He’s proud of you, He notices!

God sees you putting His Kingdom first, and He is faithful to take care of you. Just like we see in Matthew 6:33 NLT: “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

So whatever you do, DON’T STOP! Keep serving and loving others. Keep investing in eternity. Keep serving in children’s church, stuffing envelopes, sweeping floors, answering phones, being a prayer warrior, rallying groups of volunteers, bringing your supply to grow the Church...every bit of that is recorded and has eternal worth!

Say This: “Father, thank You that You have filled my heart with Your love and from that supply, I have been faithful to serve and love others. Thank You, Lord, that You notice me. You see me. You are recording my faithfulness and I choose to keep investing in things of eternal value. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

WITH LOVE IN HIS EYES

Jennifer Cole

In honor of the Father’s Day holiday that we celebrated yesterday here in the U.S., I’d like to spend a few moments with you here today talking about the ultimate father -- God the Father! Specifically, have you ever wondered what God’s heart is towards you...what your Heavenly Father thinks of you?

Some of you reading this devo have experienced hurtful, painful things from an earthly father -- or maybe had no father at all in your life. If you’re not careful, you can project those experiences onto what you think God Almighty is like. Let me encourage you today, friends...God is not critical of you, not disappointed, not waiting to point out your failures.

Does He want you to learn and grow? Absolutely! He loves you too much to let you stay where you’re at in life. But, He is patient and loving...guiding you step-by-step in your journey. God is for you. He will never give up on you and He’ll never leave you! Deuteronomy 31:6 confirms: “...the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

>>After all...YOU are His treasure. His masterpiece. His beloved.

He provides for you everything you’ll ever need -- love, security, acceptance, peace, joy, protection, and so much more. God looks at you with love in His eyes. And, He wants you to succeed in all areas of life! In 3 John 2, we see a glimpse of His heart towards us: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

The heart of God toward you is simply this: He is proud of you and wants you to prosper and enjoy life! Reach out to Him today -- talk to Him about anything and everything -- knowing that He loves you just as He loved Jesus.

Say This: “Father, thank You that You love and treasure me. Today, I choose to ‘flip the switch’ in my heart towards seeing You as the Bible describes You, rather than viewing You through the lens of the hurt and pain I’ve experienced from earthly father-figures. Lord, I ask for Your love, peace and joy to surround me today in fresh new ways. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
