PEOPLE WITH A DEEP WELL DO WELL

Jennifer Cole

Have you ever known a person who just seems to be “unsinkable?” Someone with true-blue faith, who seems to walk above the waves in a stormy season, who seems to rebound no matter what the setback, who seems calm, cool and collected despite the drama happening around them?

>>I would guess they have a DEEP WELL.

If you’re craving that kind of life for yourself -- get a deep well! A deep well comes from spending time with the Lord, meditating upon His Word, seeking Him in prayer, resting in His love, listening to His voice, trusting His guidance, following His prompts, serving His cause, and loving what He loves.

When you have a deep well, He continually fills you with rivers of living water that refresh you while you refresh others. So no matter what life throws at you or what situations are “draining” your water -- when you have rivers of His water pouring in, you never run out! And, you have an abundance that will help refresh others too.

We see Jesus mention these rivers of living water in John 7:37-38: “On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, ‘If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’’”

Ask the Lord today to help you deepen your well –- and then bust out that Bible, get to praying, follow His lead -- and get those living waters flowing!

Say This: “Father, thank You for rivers of living water! Help me to deepen my well, so I can do well in life no matter the circumstances. May I be refreshed in You and also help refresh others. Thank You that You guide me, fill me, lead me and love me! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

ASK BIG!

Jennifer Cole

God has a LOT to say in the Bible about asking! But why? After all...hasn’t He already paid for all of the blessings and provisions in your life? Yes. Hasn’t He promised you that whatever you pray for (in accordance with the Word) He will give you? Yes. Doesn’t He already know what you need? Yes.

>>But friends, there’s something huge about ASKING. Don’t miss this!

The Bible says: “...you do not have because you do not ask” (James 4:2 NKJV). That oughta stir all of us up! What are some examples of BIG things to ask for?

How about the salvation of your entire family? Ask! We know it’s not His will that any should perish, but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). When we ask in agreement with His Word, He hears and goes to work. Also, ask the Lord to use you! Make yourself available to be used in whatever way He sees fit to reach your family, and others. Pray big!

How about praying out the dreams in your heart? Have you asked for doors to be opened, to be in the right place at the right time, for favor and grace? For God to take the seemingly impossible and make it possible? Ask big!

James 1 tells us that every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of lights! None of us want to find out when we get to Heaven that God had all kinds of presents ready to come down for us, but we never asked for them! Ask! He wants to bless you, prosper you, and help you succeed -- for your enjoyment and so you can be a blessing to others! Today, make a decision to focus on asking BIG...and watch and see what the Lord will do in and through your life!

Say This: “Father, thank You that everything I ask in accordance with Your Word, You provide! Lord, with faith that nothing is impossible for You, today I ask for ________. (Ask for BIG things here!) And I ask You, Lord, for the salvation of all my friends and family. Use me, Lord, to reach others for Christ. Thank You that I am blessed to be a blessing. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

IF NOT YOU, THEN WHO?

Jennifer Cole

Feeling run over, under-appreciated, overlooked, tired of trying? Are you thinking about quitting? Before you do, think about this...

>>Maybe you are exactly where you’re meant to be.

Perhaps every step in your path has worked to position you right where you are, for such a time as this. Just like Esther, who found herself in the right place at the right time to help save many people’s lives, “...who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14 NKJV).

There is something that needs to be done and people who need to be helped, encouraged or led...and maybe that’s exactly why you are where you are -- to have that impact! You can do this! If not you, then who? Keep going, don’t quit...you are here for such a time as this.

Say This: “Father, thank You that You work all things together for my good. I believe You’re positioning me to make a difference and that You will equip me for such a time as this. Help me to rest in You, and please fill my sails with fresh new wind. Help me to keep going and not quit! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

BLESSED. FILLED. HEALED.

Jennifer Cole

Today I’m praying this over you, my friends!

BE BLESSED. (3 John 2)
BE FILLED. (Acts 2:4)
BE HEALED. (Psalm 103:1-5)

God has given us so many pathways for experiencing and accessing His blessings, His infilling and His healing power. Below are 11 of my favorite routes...and if you look up the associated Scriptures and get these basic truths in your spirit, they will be game-changers for you!

Be led by the Spirit. (Romans 8:14)
Know and believe the love God has for you. (1 John 4:19)
Rest in Jesus, receive His finished work and yield to His Spirit. (Acts 2)
Employ your faith. (Mark 11:23-24)
Believe God and His Word. (Mark 9:23)
Forgive anyone of anything. (Mark 11:25)
Ask a believer to lay hands on you in Jesus’ name. (Mark 16:17-18)
Ask church leaders to pray and anoint you with oil. (James 5:13-16)
Use wisdom and live in moderation. (Proverbs 3:5-10)
Pray and talk to your parents, your pastor, your doctor and other God-appointed people in your life to seek their wisdom and counsel. (Proverbs 15:22)
Keep your tongue from speaking words contrary to love and faith. (1 Peter 3:10)

Write these out on index cards, tape this up on your mirror, read through the list over your morning coffee each day...do whatever you can do to get these basic -- but life-changing -- truths deep into your heart! As you do so, look out...because being blessed, filled and healed is sure to follow!

Say This: “Father, thank You that Your Word is living and active, and as I intentionally learn the Word and plant it like seeds of life into my heart, You will guide me on the path to being blessed, filled and healed! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

LARGE SCOOP OF THANKS & GIVING

Jennifer Cole

Do you know someone who just seems to always know the perfect gift to get people? Some people seem to have this uncanny intuition to know just what gift a person would love to receive. I admire that so much -- after all, it’s such a joy to bring a smile to someone’s face, and maybe even tears of happiness because the gift is so on-point and meaningful!

And, it’s not just about tangible gifts...there are also those people who seem to have just the right word to say, at just the right time. With one conversation, phone call or even a text, they can bring a smile to your face, put wind back in your sails and flood your day with hope and encouragement.

Just a few days ago, we celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday here in the US, and that got me really thinking about the “thanks” piece of that word...but also the “giving.” I found myself marveling at the folks I know who excel in the areas of giving gifts and giving those perfectly-timed words of encouragement and affirmation. As I marveled and pondered, I then realized that ALL of us can become genuinely better at those kinds of giving!

>>Here’s the secret...we have the Holy Spirit inside of us, so we can ask Him to help us bless others in a HUGE way!

Sometimes in the busyness of life, especially around the holidays, we can unfortunately overlook or undervalue the incredible role that the Holy Spirit has -- or wants to have -- in our daily lives! The Bible describes His role with the following incredible terms: “Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby)...” (John 14:26 AMP). He’s our compass and our guide...and, He can give us “insider’s scoop” type of knowledge when needed.

So even if it doesn’t feel like it comes naturally to you to give those perfect gifts or those just-right words...I encourage you to ask the Holy Spirit to guide you! When someone’s been on your heart -- maybe it’s a coworker, a friend or family member, a single mom or single dad, your boss or teacher, your neighbor, that parent who sits next to you at your kid’s sporting events, or anyone that you’re praying for and thinking about -- ask the Holy Spirit for insights into what would truly bless that person. He knows what they need and can help point you in the right direction!

Friends, I pray that this whole holiday season for you is blessed with lots to be thankful for...and that your giving rises up to a whole nutha level as you seek the Lord for His divine guidance! After all, the joy of blessing someone is one of the best feelings in life!

Say This: “Father, thank You that as a believer, I have the Holy Spirit dwelling in me -- He gives me insights, knowledge, direction, comfort and so much more. I would love to bless those around me in very meaningful ways, so I ask the Holy Spirit to please guide me...show me the gifts and words that would truly bless others. Thank You, Lord, for guiding me and giving me divinely inspired ideas! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
